Identify the number that does not belong with the other three. Explain your reasoning. 26.6 repeating 6, square root 48, negative 51 over 2, negative 55.1

I did this like three years ago, and my teacher said in the past i have done this, so she said just do it. I take flvs online thats why.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Do you notice a difference between numbers such as 1.333..., 2, 51/4, and \(\sqrt 2\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe that 26.6 would be different, because it is a rational number, because it repeats, would that be correct?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

26.66... is a rational number. That is correct. What about -51/2 and -55.1? Are they rational or irrational?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are irrational, i believe because they do not repeat.
