OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mhmm?

OpenStudy (somy):

lets try writing it out first put the ones you know into the circle you think it belongs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know thats why i posted a question!

OpenStudy (somy):

Genetic diversity mitosis? or meiosis? what does genetic diversity mean to you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Meiosis.

OpenStudy (somy):

i know, thats why im guiding you stepwise

OpenStudy (somy):

bingo! so no diversity would go to mitosis right?

OpenStudy (somy):

|dw:1426023665210:dw|

OpenStudy (somy):

sex cells/ gametes = mitosis? or meiosis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sex cells are in both. right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gametes Idk.

OpenStudy (somy):

sorry, huge lag

OpenStudy (somy):

sex cells are gametes and they are produced by meiosis mitosis is needed when the cells produced have to have identical genetic information and that is only in mitosis in meiosis the division produces haploid cells which are not genetically identical which is why it leads to diversity once it fuses with opposite sex gamete cell = fertilization = zygote

OpenStudy (somy):

so |dw:1426026569119:dw|

OpenStudy (somy):

pay a close attention and you will see in mitosis & meiosis there is doubling of number of chromosomes, and, its only ONE time
