find the y intercept
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
-3
OpenStudy (bibby):
only 2 of those lines hit the y axis at -3
now find the x axis
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
0?

whoops x intercept
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
Can you explain to me how to do that?
OpenStudy (bibby):
to find the y intercept, you set x = 0 and solve
to find the x intercept, you set y = 0 and solve
that's because y-intercepts are of the form (0,y)
and x-intercepts are of the form (x,0)
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
0= 5/4x*3
OpenStudy (bibby):
y=5/4x-3 - replace y with 0
0=5/4x-3
3=5/4x
x=?

2.4
OpenStudy (bibby):
that means it hits the x axis at 2.4
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
Okay so it is B or C. I think it is B....
OpenStudy (bibby):
remember the first part where I asked you to find the y intercept too?
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
yes?

Oh wait, y is 0...
OpenStudy (bibby):
the graph in question has:
x-int: 2.4
y-int: -3
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
I mean the intercept
OpenStudy (bibby):
no it isn't?
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
Sorry, my mistake. I am getting confused here because to me, they both look the same.

The line is just going elsewhere
OpenStudy (bibby):
lolwut
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
I am saying the answer choice all look the same to me...
OpenStudy (bibby):
our equation is \(y=\dfrac{5}{4}x-3\)
OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):
Okay, I think C is the answer
