Jake and Mike took x tests each. Mike scored 15 points less than Jake. The expression below shows Mike's total score in the tests: 85x - 15 What does the coefficient of the expression represent? (3 points) The total score Jake earned The sum of Jake's and Mike's total score The score Jake obtained in each test The difference between Jake's and Mike's total score
in the real world this question makes no sense, but for the sake of the question assume jake got the same score on every one of his tests and that mike also got the same score on every single test. Mike's score multiplied together are 15 points less than Jake's score multiplied together.
i dont get it @caominhim
say i get a 50 on 3 tests. If i add all my points together i'll get 50+50+50. Or i could say i got 50*3. my friend's total was 75 points less than mine because he got 25's on his 3 tests. 25+25+25, or 25*3.
that's not what its asking and its not helping
i just gave you the answer in my response
if i got a 50 on x tests, i got 50x points
then whats the coefficient represent
what grade are you in?
9
@caominhim
I really can't explain any more without straight up telling you the answer, look at my comment and determine what i multiply x by, that is the answer.
