Which weighs more, a pound of gold or a pound of feathers?
Lol, they're the same, right?
ONE POUND of gold ONE POUND of feathers
ACTUALLY, no
Should've known it wouldn't be that easy :P
Does anybody know?
would you like to know @iGreen ?
I've seen this riddle before and yes they are both the same.
I'm guessing a pound of feathers..because you would think it would be a pound of gold :P
pound is a unit of Weight :) have the same number of pounds would mean that they are the same weight ^_^ although the feathers might take up more volume to compensate for the rock's density
I still think they're the same :P
Me too lol.
no, they're not... precious medals are weighed differently than other things. you're correct @iGreen shall I explain?
Yes please.
oh wait right
I was thinking rocks but the precious medals thing is right *flips table*
I learned this like a month ago in physics xD
LOL
Gold = 12 troy ounces which makes up 5760 grains to the pound While the common measurement for feathers would make them equal to 7000 grains to the pound.
7000 > 5760 Feathers > Gold
I see ;)
http://www.coinnews.net/2007/07/22/weighing-in-the-precious-metal-difference/
A pound of feathers is measured in avoirdupois weight, in which one pound equals 16 ounces. Precious metals are measured in troy weight, in which one pound equals 12 ounces. However, the ounces are not measured in the same way. In avoirdupois weight, one ounce = 437.5 grains. In troy weight, one ounce = 480 grains. So, the pound of feathers is (16)*(437.5)=7,000 and the pound of gold is (12)*(480)=5,760
gotta be more specific with your pounds ;P yeish could've ended up talking rubles for all I know
haha XD
good job, you guys :)
