OpenStudy (igreen):

Range is the biggest number subtracted from the smallest number.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Find the biggest and smallest numbers then subtract.

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):

How do you find the biggest/smallest in a Stem and leaf plot?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Go to the first row and first number, that will be the smallest number. Then go to the last row and last number, that will be the biggest number.

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):

So 9 and 5 (9 - 5) ?

OpenStudy (igreen):

No..

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):

12 and 17?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yes, those are the numbers in the first and last rows..now look at the first number in row '12' and the last number in row '17'.

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):

3 and 5?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):

So I have to subtract them? Or something?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yeah, well what does 17 | 5 equal?

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):

17 - 5?

OpenStudy (igreen):

No..

OpenStudy (igreen):

It tells you that: 12 | 3 = 12.3 So what does 17 | 5 equal?

OpenStudy (openstudyrocks5*):
