A baseball diamond has the shape of a square 27.4 on a side. Mr.Chong starts running from the first to the second base at the rate of 2m/sec. At the same time, Jacky starts running from the second to third base at a rate of 1.5m/sec. How fast is the distance between them changing 5 seconds after they leave the bases?

I think that this is a really cool problem! Here's a quick hint that I think the answer will fall out of for you - if you draw the baseball diamond with the guys running from their respective bases, what geometric shape do the two runners relative to their bases, and also the distance between the two runners make (noting that each angle of the diamond is 90 degrees)?

I drew it |dw:1426134642769:dw|
