Please help on calculus problem. A contractor was able to purchase 1360 meters of barbed wire w/c will be used to fence two residential lots which are not adjacent, one which has a square section and the other a rectangle whose length is twice as long as its width. Find the diameter of each lot as that the sum of the areas shall be maximum. The fence to be used must be spaced in such a way that there will be 4 lengths in a side.

OpenStudy (phi):

The last sentence does not make sense: "The fence to be used must be spaced in such a way that there will be 4 lengths in a side." Perhaps they mean, each lot has 4 sides? Assuming two separate figures, draw a picture: |dw:1426252003822:dw|
