How did Benito Mussolini attempt to increase Italy’s power
Well all in all yes. Yes fascist economics improved the Italian economy. Fascsit economics arent really radical at all as many might think. Mussolini alinged himself with industrial interest and forged alliances with Italian capitalist. Mussolini had no real economic plan, but reacted to changing situations. Mussolinis economic goals were simple,1 modernize Italys backward economy,2remedy Italys lack of natural resources. Making a alliance of indutrialist, workers and the state, Pro-corporatism all in all. First hand Mussolini reformed the highly abused tax system, disoped of ineffcient state owned industry, cut government costs, and introduced tariffs to protect the new industries. Development avaible domestic resources, and aggressive commerical policies searching agressively for raw material trade deals and to solve Italys resources problem commited stragetic colonziation,Libya and Ethopia. Life insurance was shifted to private interprise. For his first years in power from 1922-1926 he adapted a liberal economic policy, however the liar declinced and the liberal policys droped. From 1927 onwards Mussolini adapted Italy into a corporative state. Massive work programs to gain popularity, massive construction of roads, including in the countryside. Also, drained massive swamps and confurated them into roads and railroads. Italys economy improved slowly overtime and by the great depression came in 1929 Italy fared off more than any indutrialized nation. Italys masive indutrilization and to bring capitalism into fascist idelodgy paved the way by the 1930s to a spike in the Italian ecomony. Mussolni became admired throughout the world for Italy dogding the worldwide ecomonic depression of the early 1930s. Admired by men from Churchill, Rosoovelt, and Hitler. His intense nationalism, decalring roman catholism as Italys offical religion and the indepdence of vatican city, united the Italian people behind him, even much of Italys far left came to respect him to,mostly because of his socialist upbringing in his youth. Italys baby boom of the 1920s,1930s and 1940s was the pure responsiblity of Mussolnis fertiliy program. By the mid 1930s more of the Italian economy was invested into the Armed Forces. Though, Italy suffered a econmic boycott after his invasion of Ethopia in 1935, except for Germany,Islamic nations, other poorer European nations who couldn't affored not to do business with Italy. So, Mussloni just incorpated capiatlism into fascist idelodgy, and just his own spin on it.
