Hi,

Becoming an ambassador is free.
And once you become an ambassador, you do not get paid either.

Same goes for moderators. They do not get any money for moderating the site.

Anyways, yes, being an Ambi is free. Being a Mod is free too. They don't have to pay, nor do they receive any income too. It's all voluntary work.
