The mean is the best measure of center to summarize the ages of the children. The mean is the average point on a graph of all of the values. So if we want to summarize a center point of an average then the mean is the best to use. The median is simply the middle number in the number set, where half the numbers are above it and half the numbers are below it. It does not summarize the number set because it doesn't account for all of the values. Answer is A
