can someone explain what this question means? im so confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

By evaluate, they mean plug in the known values for x, y, and z, and simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i add all of the numbers together?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the value of each variable x=10 y=-5 z=-2, so do i add them together and then simplify?

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

No. Plug them into the what the expression they give you

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

\(\large\frac{x^2}{y}+\frac{x^2}{z}\) x = 10 y = -5 z = -2

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

So... \(\Large\frac{x^2}{y}+\frac{x^2}{z}\rightarrow\frac{(10)^2}{(-5)}+\frac{(10)^2}{(-2)}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10 squared would be 20... 20+-2= 18.. 20+-5=15... 18+15= 33

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that cant be right.. can it? what am i missing...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH the answer would be 30! i get it... im so stupid at times xD
