If current trends continue, what will happen to the Himalayan Mountains in the next million years? They will increase in height due to weathering. They will continue to grow because of plate collision. They will increase in height due to erosion. Volcanoes will form where the plates are separating.

They will continue to grow due to plate collision

OpenStudy (godmod360):

Weathering is when wind, water, and other sediment, deconstruct rock for example the beach has an excess of sand due to the fact that the ocean has eroded the pre-existing rock, thus creating sand, so the mountains cannot grow or increase in size. Plate tectonics on the other hand is the movement of plates beneath the earths crust and when they collide they form mountains when to two plates rise, thus these plates pushing against one another will cause the Himalayas to slowly grow forever.
