Why isn’t fire “the enemy” anymore in forests?

OpenStudy (godmod360):

not sure what the question is

OpenStudy (marvelgrand):

It is for Washington state history. It's about forrest fires

OpenStudy (godmod360):

wait i think i understand, ok well forest fires are a necessary phenomenon due to the fact that many of the larger plants such as trees and large conifers dominate the forest and absorb the majority of the light leaving the smaller plants such as shrubs, and angiosperms without much nourishment so when these fires remove the larger trees it now allows the small plants to recieve these necessary components for life and thus begins a cycle

OpenStudy (marvelgrand):

Wow your right! Thanks @godmod360

OpenStudy (godmod360):

welcome man
