!Auxilio! Find the area of the shaded portion. https://ortrail.owschools.com/media/g_geo_ccss_2014/8/groupi60.gif
Area of rectangle minus the area of the sector. need more?
It needs to be in this format but I have no idea: https://ortrail.owschools.com/media/g_geo_ccss_2014/8/q266_x.gif I keep trying to apply that formula but it keeps trumping me :/
I got 12(pi) but I don't know the rest.
bisect the angle to get 2 (30, 60 90) triangles, which together would make a reactangle, the legs of the triangles are the sides. the area of a sector is \[A_{sector}=\pi r^2\cdot \frac{ \theta }{ 2\pi } \text{, where } \theta \text{ is the \angle of the sector.}\]
i get \[A_{rectangle} = 6\cdot 6\sqrt{3}=36\sqrt{3}\]\[A_{sector} =\pi(6)^2\cdot \frac{ \frac{ 2\pi }{ 3 } }{ 2\pi }=36\cdot \frac{ \pi }{ 3 }\]
Okay and I would subtract that to get the answer?
yep
Thank you so much for explaining!
