What is the definition of figurative language? Language used to help figure out a problem. Language used to help a reader better understand a story. Language which says exactly what it means. Language specific to a particular discipline or career field.

Figurative language is used to produce images in the readers mind. Figurative writing tools are things like metaphors, similes, personification, ect. It is not literal so C is out. Based on your choice of answers, A can also be removed. Figurative language is used in reading and writing, but it is not language specific to a career field. That leaves you with B as your best choice.
