Freud believed that most of the mind is hidden. Our conscious awareness is the piece of the iceberg that sits above the water. Thoughts, emotions, and actions that we are currently experiencing are in this region. Just below the surface lies the preconscious mind. This region holds information that is not currently in use but is readily accessible if needed by the conscious mind.
