Help solving trig equations
-4csc(Theta)=8
\[\csc(\Theta)=-8/4= -2\]
you know that \[\csc \theta=\frac{ 1 }{ \sin \theta }\]
this should help
do the reciprocal of both sides to get \[\sin \theta =-0.5\]
Well it says to put it in degrees which confuses me s:
yeah, you will do inverse sin of -0.5 and you will get an answer for theta just make sure your calculator is set to degrees
well its not even that The answers tht I choose from are weird. Are they for reference angles? 60° + 360°k or 120° + 360°k 240° + 360°k or 300° + 360°k 30° + 360°k or 150° + 360°k 210° + 180°k or 330° + 180°k
the +360k means any other angle it can be, since there are infinite answers
but you will only look for the ones in the range 0<x<360
which is why you get 2 answers, 60, 120 240,300 30,50 210,330 the +180k or 360k means the rest of the possible angles up to infinite
hope that helps
