OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a question

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Yes.

OpenStudy (korosh23):

My question is why in Spanish we do not conjugate the verb. For example: Yo Voy a ver la television. Why we do not say veo? Why we do not change the verb? Can you please explain. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With regular verbs, the stem stays the same, and the ending changes as they are conjugated.

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Can you clarify it much more please,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are three types of infinitives -ar, -er, -ir

OpenStudy (korosh23):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Infinitives are made up of two parts: the ending and the stem

OpenStudy (korosh23):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the stem is underlined and the ending is left alone

OpenStudy (korosh23):

You mean that we change the ending or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends like if the word has an e

OpenStudy (korosh23):

@ChiShiki I am taking begginer spanish so you might want to make your explanations a little bit easier. I asked someone and she said that if someone wants to do something in the future, the verb is not going to be conjugated. However if someone is doing something right at that moment, it is necessary to change the verb.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i didn't think you were a beginner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you got your answer at that good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your friend told you?

OpenStudy (korosh23):

That is fine :)

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Based on my explanation. Do you think it is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got to go though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bye

OpenStudy (korosh23):
