An object will float if the buoyant force is greater than (or equal to) the objects weight (which is the gravitational force on the object). The buoyant force acts upwards, while the weight acts downwards. If the buoyant force is bigger than the weight, the NET force is upward and the object floats. If the weight is bigger than the buoyant force, the NET force is downward and the object sinks. So actually...A is the correct answer - it's the only option where the buoyant force is bigger than the weight!
