OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see.. so you find the mean first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can yall help me on a question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then you find the distance of all of the numbers from the mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Race100 which question do you need help on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@alyssa_xo can you help us

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@texaschic101 please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which question do u need help on?

all of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first one 2,2,5 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you find the mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\((2+2+3)\div 3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's 3 and now find the distance of the 3 numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1,1,2 yes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/3 is ur answer

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

find the mean....(2 + 2 + 5) / 3 = 9/3 = 3 find the difference between each data value and the mean 2 - 3 = -1 2 - 3 = -1 5 - 3 = 2 take absolute value of differences 1,1,2 find average mean of absolute values (1 + 1 + 2)/3 = 4/3 (absolute deviation) ========================= (a) overlap of data ?? -- sorry (b) IQR = Q3 - Q1 IQR of 8th grade = 34 - 26 = 18 IQR of 7th grade = 22 - 14 = 8 (c) difference between medians...30 - 18 = 12 (d) I am not sure if they are talking about 7th grade IQR or 8th grade IQR...sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):
