find the mean....(2 + 2 + 5) / 3 = 9/3 = 3
find the difference between each data value and the mean
2 - 3 = -1
2 - 3 = -1
5 - 3 = 2
take absolute value of differences
1,1,2
find average mean of absolute values
(1 + 1 + 2)/3 = 4/3 (absolute deviation)
=========================
(a) overlap of data ?? -- sorry
(b) IQR = Q3 - Q1
IQR of 8th grade = 34 - 26 = 18
IQR of 7th grade = 22 - 14 = 8
(c) difference between medians...30 - 18 = 12
(d) I am not sure if they are talking about 7th grade IQR or 8th grade IQR...sorry
OpenStudy (anonymous):
are yall in k12
OpenStudy (texaschic101):
nope....sorry...I am not in school
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what's k12?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
