Ancient music was produced by what type of culture?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Music was present in many cultures, but the most known ones would be the ancient egypt, ancient greece, India, Mesopotamia and Ancient Rome. The theory between them varied a lot, but the most known would be the "modes" the greeks used to create music, I talk about the "Eolian mode", "Lydian mode" and so on, then, later on were replaced with the note scales we now know, but that was more formally done in the baroque era. Music was used in rituals, some choral songs and hymns.
