Is there a way to tell people not to give direct answers? I was answering a question yesterday and some people gave direct answers nonstop. I tried to tell them 'no direct answers', but they ignored me and kept going. Is there's a way to stop this? Or a kinder way of saying it?
I don't want to report them because I don't want them to get mad at me...
Whenever you witness a user providing direct answers always refer them to the OS CoC. And also state this: ''It is better to guide the user to an answer rather than doing all the work yourself. We discourage giving out answers without letting the asker at least take some part in the analysis - the aim of this site is to teach. Please refer to our code of conduct at http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct for more information. Thank you.''
I was guiding the user, before the user even thought about it, they answered direct answers straight away
Thanks for the information @Miracrown :)
If they're constantly repeating such actions, then simply report and let us the ''mods'' take care of the rest. And no worries! :)
Okay :)
Should I close this now?
If you want to :)
Haha. Alright.
:)
(:
"Why would you deprive asker, the joy of getting the answer on his own!?"
I'm not depriving the asker @hartnn, I'm just saying that we can LEAD the asker to the answer not TELL the answer, that's all :)
@sammixboo, any opinions?
What Mira said was good! You should just give them a warning and a hint that it is against the CoC, and if they continue just report, pm a mod/ambassador, and move on :P
Thanks @sammixboo :)
No problemo
#MOVEON! :D
LOL, i didn't tell that to you :P i suggested what you can tell an answer giver! like you asked :)
