Find the remainder when f(x) is divided by (x - k) f(x) = 7x4 + 12x3 + 6x2 - 5x + 16; x = 3

OpenStudy (welshfella):

By the remainder theorem it will be f(k)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and thats what I did but I got some huge number and it wasn't one of my options

OpenStudy (welshfella):

to be honest I'm a little confused by the question Why the x = 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry, it's supposed to be k=3

OpenStudy (welshfella):

right and you found f(3)?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

i got 946

OpenStudy (welshfella):

agreed?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

@KrissieG123 - are you there?
