Find an equation of a line tangent to y = 2sin x whose slope is a maximum value in the interval (0, 2π] I believe the equation is y=2x-4pi. How is the b-value -4pi?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this just a sin curve max slope at (0,0) =1 so y =2x I think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

T got that too. But I was told that the b value is -4pi. I'm not sure where that number came about

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*I got that too

I think what is going on here is that they are preventing you from using the "easy answer" of y = 2x. Notice that y = 2x passes through 0 which is not allowed by the interval (0, 2pi].
