Yes, this is just a like a bank of practice homework questions there is nothing you can't do. I don't know how you put it in the calculator though @AlexBabich

so first of all you see the term 3/25

that will be a common term mutiplied to each 5^n-1 so you can factor it out from the very beginning

something like 3/25 ( 5^(1-1) + 5^(2-1) + ... + 5^(8-1) )
