What happens to the amount of light entering the camera when you change from f/16 to f/11?

F stop is a ratio of the focal length to the diameter of the entrance pupil. Because the ratio is a fixed length over a changing pupil, the smaller the pupil the larger the f stop. Now, what do you think that does to the amount of light that gets through?
