Has anyone had trouble opening the mathlet? I have a brand new laptop running windows 7 pro and it is giving me fits about trying to download Java.

no, this is not a dead subject, but expect answers about once a day.
If you have a simple question, e.g. what's the answer to
integral x^2 dx, post in the mathematics section.

Unfortunately adding the OCS site to my approved list didn't do the trick. The applet is trying to have me download some version of JAVA and the install is failing.

Probably not helpful, but I'm on a mac and using Grapher. There are tons of graphing programs out there that do much of the same thing that the 'applet' seems to be doing.
