Give any THREE examples to explain how a body can be at motion and in rest simultaneously.
help!
Anytime where a body is in equalibrium even if in motion it can be described as being both at rest and in motion. For instance, a body traveling through space at a constant velocity without any gravitional influence could be viewed as being both at rest and in motion.
another example would be if you decided to change your point of reference as moving at the same velocity of an object. Think about newtons apple, it is falling relative to the earth and consequently obviously in motion. But, if we change our point of reference to the apple than it is standing still and the planet is approaching it.
another example related to the last two but apart due to itäs special nature would be light, if viewed as a particle and applying Einstiens theory it can be said to be standing still within it's reference frame due while it travels infintly fast to any point in space due to relativistic space/time dialation. Please check this last one to make sure the wording is right.
thnx
