can you simplify x^2-1 to x(x-1) it seems wrong to me because is you reverse it you'd get x^2-x

apply difference of square method which is \[\huge\rm a^2 -b^2 =(a+b)(a-b)\]

x^2 -1 can't be x(x-1) x is not common
