PLEASE HELP Gareth believes that if he flips a coin 820 times, it will land heads up exactly 410 times. What would you tell Gareth about his prediction?

OpenStudy (amorfide):

I would tell him that although there is a 50% chance of it landing on heads or tails, it is not guaranteed to land on heads 50% of times, as a fair coin could still land on heads 409 times whilst tails would get 411 due to each throw being independent

thank you so much :) @amorfide

OpenStudy (welshfella):

this is called the theoretical probability of tossing a coin a number of times and there is a quite high probability that the result will be close to 410
