Can someone please help me? I WILL GIVE MEDALS!!!!!! Which answer shows this equation in standard form? 8 – 4(x – y) = –6x + 6 A. –10x + 4y = –2 B. 2x + 4y = 2 C. 2x – 4y = –2 D. 2x + 4y = –2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

standard form is Ax + By = C.....there can be more then 1 answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No only one.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well...I would probably go with B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you need to double check my correct answer. Go to Mathway.com and click rewrite in standard form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its really not that hard.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

there are actually 3 written in standard form....not just 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct answer is C. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cant say A,B,C for a multiple choice problem. They want one answer.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

But there is more then 1 answer...C is one of them... standard form is : Ax + By = C......A,B,and C are integers and A is not negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer for that problem was C. Lets not make this complicated.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

ok...but I disagree

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

in my opinion, the only one NOT in standard form is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You guys are just confusing me now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They want to know which one IS. not IS not. There is no opinion in math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Celina.. its C. You will be upset if you think otherwise.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

@SithsAndGiggles ...come look at this please

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

@dan815 ...please take a peek at this

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oh..wait..I read the q wrong....sorry....I was listing all of them that were in standard form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you think I was trying to tell you? haha dang.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

my bad....I was just thinking standard form...not even looking at the equation given

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sorry everyone :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\begin{align*}8-4(x-y)&=-6x+6\\ 8-4x+4y&=-6x+6\\ (6-4)x+4y&=6-8\\ 2x+4y&=-2 \end{align*}\] which looks like D.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I have to agree with D...once worked out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All other sources that cannot be subject to human error say C. Let us know which is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uhm, what?
