   Dear Gettysburg Times,
I recently read an article and it was on “teen curfew laws”. I would just like to say my opinon on curfew! I disagree on curfew law for the follwing reasons:
      False Security:
I feel that this law was made, because they think it will keep teenagers from getting in trouble, but what is keeping them from getting in trouble at an earlier time? Yeah, you cant get in trouble past 11:00PM but what about 10:00 or 9? This law basically just put a time limit on crime..but if a teenager is breaking one law why not break curfew law? I don’t feel that it is necisarrally bringing down the crime rate by teenagers. Also if the law is “Being alone past 11:00″  why couldn’t they get a friend to help with the crime, these are just some of the things that don’t seem to make sence to me with the curfew law.
         Not All Should Be Punished:
Another reason I am anti-curfew law is because why should everyone be punished? If their is just a few groups of teenagers making the wrong desicions. What if a good kid wants to go out late, they cant because other teenagers ruined it for them. I really don’t think that is fair that EVERYONE is being punished. That is another reason I am anti-curfew law.
       Parents Should Set Curfew Not Law:
Another reason is I think the parents should set curfew. I don’t think the law should for the parents. I, personally think that is the parents responsibility. If the parents think they should have  little more freedom than 11 o’clock they cant give it to them. The law won’t allow it. I do not think that is right. That is just MY personal opinion.
                              That is just my opinion, you may have another but I am anti-curfew law for those main 3 reasons.
