New question please help me answer it guys :D The graph of y=-3x^2-2x-5 has A)Maximum value B)minimum Value

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

whenever you have a polynomial with the form: \[f(x)= ax ^{2}+bx+c\] The maximum or minimum is always determined by the "ax^2" if it's positive, with that I mean a>0, then it has a minimum value, because it's graph opens upwards. if "a" is negative, meaning a<0, then it has a maximum, because it opens downwards.

so the answer is maximum?

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

correct.

thank you :D!
