8. How is an Internet Protocol packet similar to an envelope? How is it different?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, what do you think about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick I know the format is like writing a letter. it has IP header fields, to, from and TTL but i dont know what are the differences.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, a letter can be of any length. Just put more postage on the envelop and get a bigger one. A envelope has more than one way an address can be written and put on it. How would you do those for an IP packet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick "The IP "envelope" is referred to as a packet or a datagram"?
