The present progressive is just the -ing form in english. Like, I am running, or he is eating etc. There are 2 parts in spanish to forming this. First, any verb that ends in ar, drop the ar and add -ando. So hablar would be habl- and then hablando. For -er and -ir just drop that and add -iendo. So comer would b com- and then comiendo. Vivir would be viv- and then viviendo. The second part you need is easier. In front of your new verb, just add estar, but conjugate it for the subject you are talking about. If you are talking about I, it's estoy, you=estás, he/she/it=está and so on..

So for #1, your verb is lee. Which is just the conjugated form of leer. Drop the er, le-, add -iendo (it is an er ending verb) and you get leiendo. Thing is, you can't have all the vowels right next to each other so the i turns into a y. It's a special sort of verb. The answer for that is está leyendo.
