https://app146.studyisland.com/pics/218789pic42.png

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The rate of change of item I is equal to the rate of change of item II. The rate of change of item II is greater than the rate of change of item I. The rate of change of item I is greater than the rate of change of item II.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the rate of change of item one is given by the number in the term in x ( called the coefficient of x)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

to find the rate of change in the second item subtract one value of y from the previous value of y ( say second - first) then divide this by the correspond in change of x

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so thats (1.4 - 1) / (2-0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im kinda understanding but not fully

OpenStudy (welshfella):

do you get the first one?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

item 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (welshfella):

basically for item 2 you are seeing how changes in value of y relate to corresponding changes in value of x rate of change = y2 - y1 ------ x2 - x1 where x1 and y1 and x2 and y2 are corresponding values

OpenStudy (welshfella):

referring to the table:- x1 = 0 , y1 = 1 x2 = 2, y2 = 1.4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it now much better

OpenStudy (welshfella):

good
