Help needed Question in comments
Smith blamed the bicycle for the downfall of women's health, morals, and religious devotion. Her accusations brought a swift and impassioned response. The Reverend Dr. A. Stewart Walsh, a respected clergyman in New York City and a cyclist himself, wrote a letter to the editor of the Brooklyn Eagle declaring, "I have associated with thousands of riders . . . and I have not seen among them . . . anything that could begin to approach the outrageous and scandalous indecency of the resolutions of the alleged rescue league."
Which best describes Reverend Walsh viewpoint?
Riding bicycles is not an appropriate hobby for women. Riding bicycles is a risky pastime for women. Riding bicycles is very beneficial to women. Riding bicycles is not harmful to women.

Mrs. Burrow’s friends threaten to carry the question before the next conference. The Young Women’s Christian Association has established a wheel club in open defiance of those who disapprove of bicycles.
Which best describes the Young Women’s Christian Association’s view based on its actions?
The association supports Mrs. Burrows’s decision to purchase and ride her bicycle. The association believes that the health benefits Mrs. Burrows will experience from riding a bicycle outweigh the risks. The association supports the church’s attempt to prevent Mrs. Burrows from riding a bicycle. The association believes Mrs. Burrows should only be allowed to ride her bicycle in certain circumstances.
The association supports Mrs. Burrows's decision to purchase and ride her bicycle. The YWCA believes in women's social and economic right. I don't know if I can say feminist, but...
all right thanks a lot
oh wait
the first question i asked...... shouldn't the answer be " Riding bicycles is not harmful to women. "
because Mr. Walsh was a cyclist himself so he should support cycling for women?
No because back then, women didn't really have as much power I guess as they did today and Reverend Walsh said that he has never seen anything as scandalous and wrong as the women's rescue league :)
oh yeah
