Would adding salt to water be a viable factor in alka-seltzer dissolving? My chem teacher said no. Does she just want factors like temperature and pressure?

What your teacher is referring to is most likely main contributing factors just like you said. Temperature, pressure, volume, # of solutes vs solvent molecules, etc.
