let A=M2(Z) be the ring of 2×2 integral matrices the identity of A, IA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@xapproachesinfinity please help on thsi. i have to work on my grade

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

what math level is that? number theory?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

group theory?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

i believe ring are in those courses!

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

can't really help here! I haven't taken such classes yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

were you not doing calcI yesterday?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

continuity and differentiability!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i was. actually, am doing 3 maths this semester. groups and rings, real analysis and mathematical method 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Sworewolf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

hmm i see, so diff and cont are from real analysis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to really study hard because i am in an open university

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

online?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

@ikram002p could help with group theory and gings

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

or @Loser66 :) hey old man^_^

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

try to help with group and rings this gentleman

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

hmm don't know lol just saw ring and matrix there so thought it is about groups

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

im waiting the question hi @Loser66 :P

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

eh yes there is no question to begin with lol

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

just realized that hehe

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

darn you are very careful old man :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have given an attachement

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

eh hold on this is quiz! OS is against answering quiz, exams only homework problems my dear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, its a tutor mark assingnment. but we do not have tutors

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

ok so what question u need ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is for us to pratice with

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

u need number 3 only ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but still confuse about 4,7,8,9,10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am just being introduced to groups and rings

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ikram002p

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

I'm puffed, but i do like what those courses deal with :) I'm very interested to what they offer!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the most painful part of it is that i have not found a good text book that could explain most basic things for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ikram002p , you there?

OpenStudy (loser66):

ok, ignore integer or integral, Just work with the definition of identity. We have A is identity of a ring when for ALL element r in the ring, Ar = rA = r And we also know that in matrix, unless \(\left[\begin{matrix}1&0\\0&1\end{matrix}\right]\), none of the choices has that property. Since multiplication in matrix is not commutative.

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

i give you 0 old man since i did not understand heheh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waw you all are funny. still waiting for your responds @ikram002p

OpenStudy (loser66):

7 is homomorphism

OpenStudy (loser66):

because by definition, an isomorphism is a bijective homomorphism

OpenStudy (loser66):

8 is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks but still waiting for @ikram002p since she knows it beta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i left here alone. please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@peterg2001 can u help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@pitamar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Loser66

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think she is here anymore, please help with others

OpenStudy (peterg2001):

dont know try http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=A%3DM2%28Z%29+ or mathway

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes?
