When we say quantized, we mean that there are only certain, specific energies that energy levels in an atom can have, as opposed to having any energy (i.e. a continuum).

Any electrons that are part of an atom have quantized energy equal to the energy of the energy level they occupy. If they didn't have that exact energy, they wouldn't be able to stay in that energy level.

When electrons move between energy levels of an atom, they either absorb or release a photon of light which itself has an energy equal to the energy DIFFERENCE between the levels that electron is moving between.
