OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Develop a logical argument that to show that light can exist as a particle.

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

@Data_LG2 So with this, I know people think of light as a sine wave right?

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Because I am confused why I am proving this lol

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

I know that it can be both, but not at the same time

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

I developed it :p Light can be a simple sine wave, and as Einstein tested. It can exist as a particle. However, this cannot happen at the same time. Einstein discovered the photoelecrtic effect. Scientists then tested if at high frequencies, the energy the photons have is greater. At higher intensity, there were more photons available to realease electrons. This was proven true. This would not be the effect of light if it were a wave. The wave theory of light predicted that the energy of electrons released should increase as the intensity of light increases. but its not related to the change in the frequency. So light has properties of a wave and particle stream.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry for the late response... hmm... yes you're right, before, they think that light is a wave but it failed to explain about the photoelectric effect- you can search photoelectric effect :) give me a sec to read what you have done lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh you you already mentioned the pe effect, that's good

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Indeed :p I mean i sorta proved it is both a particle and a wave

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great (: that explanation is already good i guess. sorry, i was not be able to help this time because everything is a mess rn ;_;

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Its alright :P thanks though
