Evaluate the expression when =a8 and =b5 . −40ab

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Do you mean when a = 8 and b = 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (sydthekid913):

we solve this problem the same as the last one :) remember? 40-8*5

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

If you have -40ab, and a = 8, and b=5, just plug in 8 for a and 5 for b into the expression and simplify.

OpenStudy (sydthekid913):

I think it's 40-ab it keeps messing up the format like last time :) @StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

So... \(\large -40ab\rightarrow-40(8)(5)\rightarrow ?\)

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

oh, it is? sorry 'bout that.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Same thing though, just plug in those values into 40-ab.

OpenStudy (sydthekid913):

I think so is it??? @stevenmanning

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

@stevenmanning What's the expression? -40ab or 40-ab?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a=8 b=5

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

yes, but what is the expression?
