challenge 2. how many tennis balls can fit into the container. container: d=13 h=36 v=(3.14)(r^2)(h) v= (3.14)(6.5^2)(36) v=(3.14)(1521) v=4775.94 cone(on top of the container) d=13 h=8 v=1/3(3.14)(6.5^2)(8) v=(3.14)(338)/3 v=353.77 tennis balls d=2.63 v=4/3(3.14)(1.315^3) v=4(7.14)/3 v=9.52 now we add the cone with the cylinder 353.77+4775.94=5129.71/9.52=538.83 balls would fit in the container?

OpenStudy (rizags):

does the container include both the cone and the cylinder?

OpenStudy (rizags):

ur math looks right, u just need to round down to 538 balls because you cant have a decimal amount of balls.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay by any chance can you help me round? i am horrid at it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 539

OpenStudy (rizags):

538.8 would NORMALLY round UP to 539, BUT here we are dealing with physical materials and thus we have to round DOWN to 538

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thanks so much :)
