Sqrt109-sqrt53

OpenStudy (anonymous):

....... so advenced... is it like... sqrt16 or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really have no clue how to subtract square roots but I'm sure the answer the teacher wants has to be in a form of a fraction or square root.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH the answer is 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WAIT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea closest answer i can get is 8

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

109 and 53 are prime numbers, so their square roots can't be simplified. There is no simpler exact form of \(\sqrt{109} - \sqrt{53} \).

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If you want an approximate answer, then use a calculator to find: \(\sqrt{109 } - \sqrt{53} \approx 10.44 - 7.28 = 3.16\)

ok nvm ur so much higher ranking than me i tried tho thats awesome
