OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how many degrees are in a triangle? Also, are the angles in the middle of the kite shape assumed to be 90deg?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes they are 90 and triangles add up to 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gotcha, well knowing that you can find the other angle in the bottom right triangle. So: 180 - 90 - 29 = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

61

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That answer will be the same as the angle given as y. The same principle applies to the top triangle to find x. You just subtract known quantities to find the congruent angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There you go, the picture isn't exactly accurate with the given angles but that's the correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=72 y=61

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks good, understand why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
