WILL FAN AND MEDAL!!! (Please help *whimper*) For the following system, if you isolated x in the first equation to use the Substitution Method, what expression would you substitute into the second equation? -x + 2y = -6 3x + y = 8 -2y + 6 2y - 6 2y + 6 -2y - 6

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Okay so basically the first thing you really want to do is to isolate x in the first equation. So the first equation is " -x + 2y = -6" You want to end up with "x = ...." . That's what it means by isolating x. It just means to make "x" the subject.

I have to warn you, I'm not very good at math. I have A's in all subjects except it.

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Hahaha that's okay ^_^. Just try to follow the steps i give you and you will get it :) |dw:1426753092188:dw|
