When the daughter cells split or divide from the parent cell, it is called _____.

It is called cell division or M-phase of the cell cycle. It is mitosis if number of chromosomes remains same in parent and daughter cell and if the number remains half in the daughter cells then it is meiosis. I hope that helps.
