The vertices of a triangle are P(4, 1), Q(2, –8), and R(-8, 1). Name the vertices of the image reflected across the y-axis. a. P'(4, –1), Q'(2, 8), R' (-8, -1) b. P'(-4, 1), Q'(-2, -8), R'(8, 1) c. P'(–4, -1), Q'(–2, 8), R'(8, –1) d. P'(4, 1), Q'(2, -8), R'(–8, 1)

I think if I remember from 2 years ago vertices are just like the opposite of the sign is in front of the number. Ex: (-2, 1) ---> (2, -1) tell me if I'm wrong because it's been 2 years since I've done vertices on a triangle.
Im confused @Directrix @CausticSyndicalist @SolomonZelman
|dw:1426797294382:dw| do the same with the other points across the y axis
@jim_thompson5910 can you help me with this question?
do you understand what's going on in zpupster's pic?
Sorta
Reflecting (x,y) over the y axis turns the point into (-x,y) so you just change the sign of the x coordinate
In zpupster's pic, (4,1) turns into (-4,1) or vice versa
So it would be either B or C
|dw:1426801918360:dw|
only the x coordinate changes
Oh, so it would be B, correct?
correct
Can you help me with a few more?
sure, 2 more
