WILL FAN AND GIVE MEDAL IF HELP WITH ANSWERS What is the solution to y = 0.7x for the replacement set x = {2}?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What so you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no clue something like (?,?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Replace the x in the equation with what it says its value is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It shows that I need to put the answer like this (__,__)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to replace the x with 2, and solve the equation to find y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have trouble with these I have no clue what they are trying to teach me so sorry if I sound dumb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't worry - you don't sound dumb. It's totally normal to question these kind of problems...did you get my explanation though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soo replacing the x with 2 would be 0.72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No they mean that you have to multiply 0.7 and 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wich would equal 1.4 but how is that suppost to fit in this (__,__)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first part is the value of x, and the second is the value of y, because a point in the plane coordinate would equal (x, y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be (2,0.7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no wait it would be (2,1.4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perfect!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks soo much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! Thanks for not asking for a direct answer, and trying so hard to understand it!
